+ DO YOU HAVE ANY WORK SPACES? CAN I FIND THE NECESSARY PEACE IN THE SURF HOUSE?

Yes, we have space for everyone in our surf house. You can take your laptop and sit in our quiet lounge where you can concentrate and get the work done. Just remember about the work-surf-balance! You can check all the facilities of our surf house here.

+ IS THERE AN OUTDOOR SPACE?

We have outdoor area with the pool and barbecue place all available to our guests to chill and enjoy the sunny weather.

+ CAN I PARK A CAR AT THE SURF HOUSE?

There is a public parking in front of the surf house where you can find some place to park your car.

+ WHAT TYPE OF ROOM CAN I BOOK AT THE SURF HOUSE?

We have four types of rooms at our surf house: the suite with double bed and private bathroom, the twin room with two single beds, the girls dorm with two bunk beds and the shared room with 5 single rooms and bathroom. Choose whichever suites you the most and check the photos here!

+ WHAT ARE THE CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT TIMES AT THE SURF HOUSE?

The usuall check in is after 3 pm and check out before 11 am but you can contact our surf house sweetheart - Ana by WhatsApp (+351 911 979 417) about your hours of arrival. She will take care of you and help you with everything you need!

+ ARE THERE MANY OTHER SOLO TRAVELLERS? I’M TRAVELING ALONE.

We have a lot of solo travellers so don't worry. At our surf house we are all opened for meeting new people from countries all around the world. Eventually we all become a big familly sharing a passion for surfing and the ocean.

+ DO YOU PROVIDE TOWELS AND BED LINEN?

Yes

+ CAN I COOK FOR MYSELF?

Of course. We have fully equipped kitchen available for our guests.

+ WHEN ARE THE SURF LESSONS?

We organise two surf sessions during a day - the morning session usually starts at 10 am and the afternoon session at 2 pm.

+ ON WHICH BEACHES DO YOU TEACH LESSONS?

We teach almost everywhere. Our experienced surf instructors always try to choose the best place considering the conditions and skills of our clients. You can check our surf spots on the map below!

+ WHEN IS THE BEST WEATHER? WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO SURF?

The season for surfing is all year round. We have some hotter months during summer but the tempreture doesn't drop below 10 degrees even in winter. So you can enjoy surfing during all four seasons and avoid the crowded lineup. Don't forget that we have around 300 sunny days in Portugal!

+ HOW FAR IS IT TO THE NEAREST SUPERMARKET?

There are a lot of small shops, cafes and restaurants within a walking distance.

+ HOW CAN I COME FROM LISBON AIRPORT TO THE SURF HOUSE?

The easiest way to come to Ferrel is by taking a bus to Peniche from the Sete-Rios station in Lisbon and taking a taxi to Ferrel (the distance from Peniche to Ferrel is about 6 km). If we are available we can organise a pick up from Peniche directly to our surf house in Ferrel. We also can provide transfers from Lisbon, just contact us in advance. If you are travelling by car it is about 90km from Lisbon centre to Ferrel.

Ferrel is a compact village and you can reach pretty everthing within a walking distance. Moreover we provide car transfers to the beach for the surf lessons. You can also rent a bike at our surf house if you are up to spending time actively and exploring the area.

What should i bring?

Your next surf trip is booked and now you need some help what stuff to bring? Don’t worry, we got your back! Weather in Portugal can be quite changeable - when the sun is out, it’s freaking hot! But also you might want to have a cozy hoodie after a refreshing morning surf session. Check our list to not forget the essentials!

Swimwear and Flip Flops

If you take your surf lesson we obviously provide you with well-maintained wetsuit and surf boards. You have the choice to not wear something under the suit. But we recommend to wear tight swimwear under. Also Flip Flops will be a nice-to-have item when standing on the surf spot.

Sunscreen

Everyone who loves spending time in water knows that water + sun means a crispy tan. However, during your surfing sessions in the ocean you will need some stronger protection, to not get sunburned. You can get a water-proof sunscreen dedicated for surfing in our surf school. The sunscreens that we have are not only efficient but also environment friendly.

Sunglasses and lip balm

As Portugal is one of the sunniest countries – we have around 300 sunny days a year! Don’t forget to take with you your favourite sunglasses.

Lip balm can be very useful after spending much time in salty water and windy weather.

Beach Towel

We provide you with towels to shower in the surf house but it is necessary to take an extra beach towel for chilling in the sand. The ones made from micro-fibre are perfect for traveling and easy to wash.

A warm Beanie

Off-shore wind means great surf conditions but it can get pretty chilly especially when surfing in the morning and evening. Bring a beanie and protect your ears!

A wind-proof jacket

It is crucial to have some warm clothes for the evening strolls especially during colder months. However if you forget to take your hoodie you can get one of our Surf House Merchandise Hoodies!
