Ferrel Surf House is a local and family-owned surf camp in Peniche, Portugal. We are located 50 meters across the beach of Baleal. Spotting the horizon and endless beaches from your bedroom is a scenery you won’t forget. Instead of huge commercial groups we enjoy the familiar vibe of our surf community. Therefore our surf house is perfect for solo-travellers, couples, groups and surfers of all levels.

Feeling Home: Team work makes the dream work. We love to hear our guests cheering each other up in the group lessons and sharing your surf experience at the breakfast table. That is why creating a space where you feel part of our Surf House community is so important for us.
Fun & Safety: Rule number one is your fun during your stay with us. Surfing can be exhausting but that is why our coaches are there for you. We adapt to your personal needs to ensure you having a great time with us.
Individual Surf Training: Every day the ocean is different and so is the levels of our surf students. That is why we take you to different surf spots according to your needs and experiences.

Living at the beach of Baleal

We want our guests to feel home and comfortable. We provide a variety of rooms to suit different travel needs and price ranges. The decoration is handmade by the Rui who never stops creating and improving. We want to create a space where people meet from all over the world and share memories in our community areas, including a kitchen, living room and rooftop terrace.

Portugal is the ideal spot for anyone looking for an adventorous or relaxing getaway. Guests can enjoy surfing and other water sports as we are located directly on the beach. To always be entertained we offer a range of activities, for example yoga classes, group dinners or bonfires on the beach.

Portugal with its countless beaches impresses with some of the top surfing spots in the world. Peniche provides excellent surfing conditions for beginners as well as advanced surfers.. Due to the two coastlines' south and west orientations, you can always find a spot to surf at any time of the year with any wind and swell direction.

the way we teach:

1.Defining goals of your surfing

We check your level of surfing to get a feeling what’s the best way to teach you. If you have no experience we start with the basics of surfing in a short theory lesson and practise on land. For experienced surfer we teach more detailed techniques to improve their surfing.

2. Picking the right spot for your level

Every lesson we pick the right surf spot suitable to weather conditions and your level of surfing. We will always be in the water with you and give direct feedback.

3. Analyzing your surf behavior

Surfing is all about practising. Within your two sessions per day we will record your progress on video to analyze your surf behavior and give tips for improvement.

When it comes to surfing, it's important to understand the basics before practicing anything else. So when you come to us, we make sure to clear the basic steps of surfing before doing anything else. This will also help you gain confidence and improve even further as we try the next steps. Our instructors are always in the water with you, whether you are a beginner or intermediate.
